A successful quartz countertop installation starts before the contractor arrives. Good preparation helps avoid delays, measurement problems, missing materials, and unnecessary stress.

At Rock Your World, we help San Diego homeowners understand the full project before work begins. Our goal is to complete the project in a timely manner, with clean quality work and a process designed for ONE DAY INSTALLATION.

Understand the Full Scope of the Project

Before installing quartz countertops, homeowners should know exactly what needs to be completed.

Some projects only involve removing old countertops and installing new quartz. Other projects may include sinks, plumbing, backsplash, appliances, cabinets, islands, flooring, walls, ceilings, cleanup, and hauling.

Rock Your World can demo all of your kitchen or any portions of it. We can also help if you started a project and do not have time to finish it.

Check Your Appliances

Appliances can affect countertop measurements and installation. If you plan to replace appliances, make sure you know the correct size before purchasing them.

The homeowner provides the kitchen appliances necessary to complete the project. The contractor performs installation only, but can help advise you before purchase regarding size and measurements.

This is especially important for items such as ranges, cooktops, dishwashers, refrigerators, and any appliance that connects to or sits near the countertop area.

Choose the Sink and Faucet

If your project includes an undermount sink, faucet, drain, or garbage disposal, those items should be ready before installation.

During our one-day installation process, we can install and secure one undermount sink, cut and polish one opening for the sink, install new hot and cold water valves, connect the faucet, connect the drain, and connect the garbage disposal.

Homeowners provide the items necessary to complete the project.

Decide on Backsplash

A backsplash can change the entire look of your kitchen. Rock Your World can cut and install prefabricated backsplash and seal all edges and connections.

Before installation day, it helps to know whether you want a simple backsplash, a matching quartz backsplash, tiles, or slab stone. This allows the project to be planned properly.

Prepare the Work Area

The contractor will protect the floors around the countertop areas using blankets and drop cloths, but homeowners can help by clearing personal items from the kitchen.

Remove small appliances, dishes, decorations, countertop items, and anything stored near the work area. A clear space allows the team to work faster and safer.

Plan for Demolition and Hauling

If you have existing countertops, they need to be demolished and removed. Rock Your World handles demolition and removal of existing countertops, hauls away trash and debris, vacuums the area, and cleans the site.

We recycle whenever possible and only dump at legal landfills.
